Brian Stoffel

Brian Stoffel is KEY Academy’s 7th grade writing teacher and the Technology Coordinator. During his first year of teaching, Mr. Stoffel was named as a finalist for the D.C. Public School's First Year Teacher of the Year Award. Prior to joining the KEY team, Mr. Stoffel taught at Newton Alternative High School in Newton, Iowa. He has also served as a mentor for at-risk youth and as a speechwriter for Rod Paige, the U.S. Secretary of Education. Mr. Stoffel earned his B.A. in English, with a concentration in education, from Grinnell College, where he was a Trustee Honor Scholar and a member of the Mortar Board National Honor Society. During his time at Grinnell, Mr. Stoffel was named Academic All-Conference and Rookie of the Year for the Grinnell football team.
