KIPP DC: Discover Academy

KIPP DC: Discover Academy, KIPP DC’s newest early childhood school, will open in July 2009 at the Douglass Campus in Ward 8.  The school will serve Pre-Kindergarten students (age 4) during the 2009-2010 school year and will expand, ultimately serving students in Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) through Kindergarten.  Philonda Johnson is KIPP DC: Discover Academy’s founding principal.  Prior to being selected for KIPP leadership, Ms. Johnson was a founding teacher at KIPP DC: LEAP Academy.
