Every child deserves an excellent education and the opportunity to graduate from college. At KIPP DC, there are no shortcuts. Outstanding educators, more time in school, a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and a strong culture of achievement help our students make significant academic gains and continue to excel in high school and college. The generous donations of individuals, foundations, and corporations who share our vision make it possible for KIPP DC to reach more students throughout our nation’s capital. We hope you will join our mission to help our students climb the mountain to and through college.
This year, KIPP DC has six critical areas for which we are seeking support. They include:
Extended Time through the Above and Beyond Club – Support our extended learning program. KIPP DC students spend 40% more time in school than their peers including starting school in July, attending Saturday school 2-3 times a month and a school day that lasts until 5pm.

KIPP Through College – Help us ensure that all KIPP DC alumni have the tools and support needed to get to and through college.
Capital Teaching Residency – Increase the number of highly-effective educators in the District of Columbia by helping us train aspiring teachers through an intensive one-year residency.
Renovation of the Shaw Campus – Support KIPP DC as we build a modern, expanded facility that will ultimately serve 920 students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Technology Initiatives— Help us provide the most cutting-edge technology and tools for our students and teachers.
Music & Fine Arts– Help build out the performing and visual arts programs at our nine schools.
*Above and Beyond Club (ABC) is an exciting new giving society to champion extended learning opportunities for our KIPPsters. ABC members will support our extended school day, week, and year. To provide the additional learning time that our students need, KIPP DC invests an average of $1,000 per pupil, above and beyond the public funding. As an Above and Beyond Club member, you will join a community of professionals, educators, and philanthropists who share KIPP DC’s belief that a college degree is not just an option but an expectation. For every $1,000 gift, you will help one student gain the critical extra time needed to close the achievement gap. We hope you will join us in our goal to double the college graduations rate east of the river, one student at a time.
