If I submit an application before January 2, 2012, will my child be eligible for enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year?

No. All applications submitted prior to January 2, 2012 will not be considered for the 2012-2013 school year. If you are interested in enrolling your child at a KIPP DC school for the 2012-2013 school year, please submit an application on or after January 2, 2012.

If my child is offered a spot at a KIPP DC school, what documentation must I provide?

After being offered a spot at a KIPP DC school, families have 48 hours to provide the following documents. Families not providing documents within 48 hours will lose their space at KIPP DC and their space will be offered to the next student on the waitlist:

  • A completed enrollment application
  • Proof of DC residency
  • A copy of the student’s IEP (if the student qualifies for special education services) or a copy of their 504 plan if the student is eligible
  • A copy of the student’s most recent report card from their current school
  • Most recent DC CAS scores

What happens after my child has been admitted to a KIPP DC school?

After students have been admitted, school officials will contact families to schedule an appointment to complete the KIPP Orientation Team (KOT) meeting. The purpose of the orientation is to meet with families to explain school expectations, outline school policies, and ensure all paperwork is in order. Students are not officially enrolled until the orientation is complete and all paperwork listed above is received.

What is the age criterion for students enrolling at KIPP DC?

How do I enroll?

Families may complete the online application at their local campus or from home. Additionally, paper applications will be available at the schools on January 2, 2012.
