Timeline

January 4th, 2010

Open Enrollment begins for all campuses
January 29th, 2010 Last day to submit applications for KIPP DC: College Prep (Grades 9 and 10)
February 1st, 2010 Lottery held for KIPP DC: College Prep (Grades 9 and 10)
April 8th, 2010 Last day to submit applications for Grades PreSchool through 8th
April 9th, 2010 Lottery held for Grades PreSchool through 8th
May – June, 2010 Home visits scheduled for all students new to KIPP DC.No student is considered enrolled until the completion of the home visit.
July 12th, 2010 Mandatory summer school begins for all students.Any student missing 3 days of summer school will forfeit their space at KIPP DC.

Enrollment Checklist

After being offered a spot at a KIPP DC school, families have 48 hours to provide the following documents.  Families not providing documents within 48 hours will lose their space at KIPP DC and their space will be offered to the next student on the waitlist.

A completed enrollment application

Proof of DC residency

A copy of the student’s IEP (if the student qualifies for special education services) or a copy of their 504 plan if the student is eligible

A copy of the student’s most recent report card from their current school

A copy of their 2009 DC CAS scores

Please note, PreSchool & PreKindergarten students must meet School Readiness standards, including being fully potty-trained by the first day of school, or they are ineligible for enrollment.

Orientation Meeting

After students have been admitted, school officials will contact families to schedule an appointment to complete the KIPP Orientation Team (KOT) meeting.  The purpose of the orientation is to meet with families to explain school expectations, outline school policies, and ensure all paperwork is in order.  Students are not officially enrolled until the orientation is complete and all paperwork listed above is received.
