Mission

The mission of KIPP DC Early Childhood and Elementary schools is to nurture and guide our students’ creativity, knowledge, and sense of self as we prepare them with the academic, intellectual, and character skills that are necessary for success in excellent middle schools, high schools, colleges, and in the competitive world beyond.

Vision

KIPP DC Heights Academy Elementary is a community of learners and leaders who embrace the joys and challenges of learning. Student learning success is achieved with a balanced, rigorous focus on academics and character.  We work with students to become thoughtful thinkers and teammates who will return as college educated leaders of their community.

At Heights Academy, we are leaders and learners who work hard to live our four values:

1. Improve every day. Every day we receive and use important feedback about our work and choices to become better learners and leaders.

2. Be a kind teammate. Every day we use kind words and actions with our teammates.  If our teammates need help, we give.

3. Excellence takes effort, so keep going! Every day we will try our best and keep going even when the work gets hard.

4. Lead by example. Every day we make good choices to solve problems and help our teammates make good choices too.
