  • Tevera Stith | Director of KIPP Through College tevera.stith@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Tevera Stith was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She began her career in college admissions at the College of William and Mary where she also earned a BA in History. She left the College of William and Mary after two years to serve as Associate Director of Admissions at Kenyon College. After Kenyon, she joined the Office of Admissions at Swarthmore College where she also served as Associate Director and led the college’s multicultural recruitment efforts. Following her time at Swarthmore, Ms. Stith fulfilled a professional and personal goal by returning to her high school alma mater, St. Paul’s School for Girls, as Director of College Counseling. She served in that role for nine years before coming to KIPP DC as the Director of KIPP Through College in January 2012. When Ms. Stith isn’t helping to guide KIPPsters to and through college, you can find her in the kitchen! She loves to cook and can tell you how best to broil, bake, sauté, or fry it!

  • LaMika Bacon | College Support Manager lamika.bacon@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    LaMika Bacon joined the KIPP Through College Team in July 2014. She was born and raised in Washington, D.C. As a first generation college student, and POSSE alumna, she attended Lafayette College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. After graduating, she pursued a career in education as a human capital professional. With her keen eye for talent, she works to ensure that our students will become successful in both college and the workforce. LaMika continues to live by the creed that “adversity is a tool for victory”.

  • Meghan Behnke | Deputy Director of KIPP Through College meghan.behnke@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Meghan Behnke grew up in Evergreen, Colorado. She went to college to become a high school English teacher, earning her teaching license and BS in English Education at Boston University. While teaching, Ms. Behnke became passionate about helping students gain access to college. She coordinated the COACH College Access Program, a partnership between local universities and public high schools designed to help students prepare for and apply to college. After COACH, Ms. Behnke came to Washington, D.C. and shifted her focus to younger students. She developed the OnTrack! Program at College & Career Connections to help middle school students successfully transition from middle to high school and plan for college. Ms. Behnke joined the KIPP DC KIPP Through College team as the High School Transition Advisor in August 2011  and became the Deputy Director in 2015. When she is not working with students and families, you are likely to find Ms. Behnke cooking up a storm in her kitchen or running on the National Mall!

  • Sarah Beraki | College Support Manager sarah.beraki@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Sarah is a native of Minnesota and joined KIPP Through College in 2015. She received her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota. Sarah began her career in education as the Coordinator for African American Recruitment and Admissions Counselor at the University of Minnesota. She also worked at the Penn Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy while pursuing her masters degree in Philadelphia and as a College Coach this summer. Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with family and friends, traveling, and painting.

  • Isabelle Cross | High School Transition Manager isabelle.cross@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Isabelle joined KIPP DC’s Capital Teaching Residency (CTR) team in June of 2011. She worked with CTR for four years (initially as the CTR Program Associate and later as the Manager of CTR Recruitment & Selection) before transitioning to the KIPP Through College team as the High School Transition Manager in June of 2015. Prior to her time at KIPP DC, Isabelle taught fifth grade at IDEA Academy, a charter school located on the border of Texas and Mexico. She loved teaching and spent the summer after her second year training new teachers at Teach For America’s institute in Houston. Upon leaving Texas, she began graduate school at Carnegie Mellon while serving as an intern in the Office of Teacher Effectiveness with Pittsburgh Public Schools. She currently holds a Master’s of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon, and a Bachelor’s of Science with a focus in international business, marketing, and Spanish from St. Louis University.

  • Tasha Daniels | Career Development Manager tasha.daniels@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Tasha Daniels, originally from North Carolina, joined the KIPP Through College team in July 2015 as the Career Development Manager. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and a Master’s degree in Organization Development from American University. Before joining KIPP DC, she worked in career services at American University for seven years.

  • Tamika Harrison | Senior Manager for College Support tamika.harrison@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Tamika Harrison earned a BA in Educational Studies from Salem State University in Salem, MA. After graduating, she worked with the Student Support Services Department at her alma mater, before moving to New Hampshire. She later continued her work in higher education at the University of New Hampshire, where she earned her M. Ed in Counseling. She has more than 12 years of experience working with students in various areas of higher education, including academic advising, teaching, and student development. Ms. Harrison joined the KIPP DC KIPP Through College team in October 2010 as the College Support Advisor. In addition to her work with KIPP, she continues to serve as an on-call academic advisor and adjunct faculty member with Prince George’s Community College.

  • Julia Hellmich | High School Alumni Manager Julia.Hellmich@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Julia Hellmich, joins KIPP DC KIPP Through College team as a High School Alumni Manager.  Julia is a New York native and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and her Master’s in Special Education from George Mason. Prior to joining KIPP DC, she worked at Friendship Tech Prep Academy, first as a Special Education teacher working with eighth-tenth graders, and then as their initial College and Career Counselor. 

  • Kamilah Holder | Director of College Support kamilah.holder@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Kamilah Holder joined the KIPP Through College team in July 2014. She is a native New Yorker who received her Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and her law degree from the George Washington University Law School. She worked as a legislative attorney prior to her work in admissions and multicultural outreach at both Georgetown University and Columbia University.

  • Yvenais Pierre | High School Alumni Manager yvenais.pierre@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Yvenais Pierre is a native of St. Louis du nord, Haiti, who migrated to Brooklyn, New York at an early age. Mr. Pierre earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Prior to joining KIPP DC, he served as a College Access Program Specialist at CollegeBound Foundation in Baltimore City. Most recently, Yves served as Director of Operations at Bridges Community Development Center in Anne Arundel County where he developed after school programs for at-risk middle school and high school students. While working at Bridges Community Development Center, he worked for Anne Arundel County Public Schools as an Administrator Leadership Specialist focusing on behavioral and academic interventions for at-risk students. In 2007, Mr. Pierre was awarded a “Mentoring Award” from the Volunteer Center of Anne Arundel County for the implementation of the YES Initiative Program which reflects his desire to ensure students he works with are successful in every facet of their lives. When he is not working with students, you can find Yves at any airport around the world traveling with teams supporting small humanitarian groups working in developing countries.

  • Zuogwi Reeves | College Support Manager Zuogwi.Reeves@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Zuogwi Reeves, joins the KIPP Through College team as a College Support Manager. Zuogwi, also known as Zuo, is a native Washingtonian with a background in college access and youth development. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Zuo spent several years working with the College Success Foundation supporting first generation college students primarily from Wards 7 and 8.  Zuo graduated from Winston Salem State University where he served as a mentor with the Renaissance Minority Male Mentoring Program and became a member of the Mu Epsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi INC.  He lives by the mantra “You should avoid hedging, at least that’s what I think. You should be ashamed to die until you’ve made some contribution to mankind” – Dr. Vernon Johns.  He is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Divinity at The Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of the Theology.

  • Imani Tyus | Early High School Alumni Manager imani.tyus@kippdc.orgRead Bio

    Imani joined KIPP Through College in 2014. She is a native Californian, by the way of San Diego. She received her Bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego and her Project Management Certificate form CSU San Marcos. Her previous position was with University of San Diego, as Project Consultant for the Center of Peace and Commerce, Social Innovation Challenge. She has volunteered with the IRC and various organizations and spends her free time with family, friends, paddle boarding, doing yoga, and camping.
