Melissa Cline is KEY Academy's Spanish teacher for grades 6 – 8. Last year, Senora Cline won the Kimsey Award for teaching and was a finalist for the Washington Post Agnes Meyer Excellence in Teaching Award. Before joining our team in 2003, Senora Cline was a member of the Teach for America Corps, where she taught Spanish at Phelps Career Senior High School and at H.D. Woodson. At Phelps, she designed a curriculum to serve special education students at all levels and served as the co-chair of student committees. Her work at Woodson included designing curriculum to improve student oral development. Senora Cline has interned at a shelter for undocumented immigrants and been an education fellow on an Earthwatch Summer Expedition to Brazil. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kansas , Senora Cline double majored in Spanish and social work.
