Nathan Franz

Nathan Franz is KEY Academy’s sixth grade social studies and science teacher. Last year, Mr. Franz was the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year for Clinton, MD. Before joining our team in 2004, Mr. Franz taught kindergarten at Friendship-Edison Public Charter School. He has also taught at the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center in Washington, D.C. Mr. Franz served as a mentor an a tutor for Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School where he administered college prep activities, including SAT preparation and assisted in college, scholarship, and financial aid applications. Mr. Franz earned a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He also completed education coursework at Trinity College in phonetic awareness and early reading instruction.
