KIPP DC: Promise Academy opened in July 2009 at the Benning Road Campus in Ward 7. Promise Academy is KIPP DC’s first elementary school and is a free, open-enrollment, public charter school. The school currently serves first second, and third grade students and will expand, ultimately serving students in grades 1 – 4. Casey Fullerton is the Principal of Promise Academy.
The mission of Promise Academy is to prepare our students for their journey to college by providing them with the tools to become critical thinkers who are curious about the world around them and confident in their ability to shape it.
