    Tevera Stith joined KIPP DC in January 2012 as the Director of KIPP Through College and is now the Managing Director of KIPP Through College & Career. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Tevera began her career in college admissions at the College of William and Mary where she also earned a BA in History. She went on to serve in a number of admission roles at Kenyon College and Swarthmore College where she led the college’s multicultural recruitment efforts. Following her time at Swarthmore, Ms. Stith fulfilled a professional and personal goal by returning to her high school alma mater, St. Paul’s School for Girls, as Director of College Counseling. She served in that role for nine years before coming to KIPP DC as the Director of KIPP Through College. When Ms. Stith isn’t helping to guide KIPPsters to and through college & career, you can find her in the kitchen! She loves to cook and can tell you how best to broil, bake, sauté, or fry it!

    Meghan Behnke joined KIPP DC in August 2011 as a high school transition advisor and is currently deputy director of KIPP Through College & Career. In this role she supports the Director of KTC  in leading KIPP DC’s alumni support efforts. Meghan was raised in Evergreen, CO and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Boston University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Meghan, a trained teacher turned passionate college access advocate, worked with a variety of nonprofits to develop college and career programming for students in educationally underserved communities. While Meghan isn’t working she can be found cooking up a storm in her kitchen or enjoying a run or other outdoor adventure.

    Kamilah Holder joined KIPP DC in July of 2014 as senior manager of college partnerships and is currently the senior director of college support. In this role, she manages KIPP DC’s support of our alumni persisting in college. Kamilah is a native of Brooklyn, NY and obtained a B.S. degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Kamilah worked as a legislative attorney before her work in higher education at Georgetown and Columbia University.

    Hannah Copperman joined KIPP DC in July 2016 as a history teacher and is currently a college counselor. In this role, she helps juniors and seniors prepare for and go through the college and career application and financial aid process. Hannah is a native of Brooklyn, NY and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her master’s degree from Teachers College Columbia University. Prior to joining KIPP DC Hannah was a history teacher in D.C. and Philadelphia. When Hannah isn’t working, she can be found reading, cooking, and running.

    Isabelle joined KIPP DC in June of 2011 as part of the Capital Teaching Residency team and, four years later, joined KIPP Through College & Career as the high school transition manager and now serve as the senior manager of high school transition. In this role, she supports 8th grade students and families at KIPP DC as they apply and matriculate to high school. Isabelle is a Kentucky native and holds a Master’s of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon, and a Bachelor’s of Science with a focus in International Business, Marketing, and Spanish from St. Louis University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Isabelle taught 5th grade at IDEA Academy, a charter school located on the border of Texas and Mexico. When Isabelle isn’t working, she can be found reading, painting, paddle boarding, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying D.C.!

    Tamika C. Harrison joined KIPP DC in October 2010 as a college support advisor and is currently the senior manager for college support. In this role, she supports KIPP DC alumni to and through college completion and/or onto a sustainable career. Tamika is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and obtained a bachelors degree from Salem State University, and a Masters degree from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Tamika has worked with students in various areas of higher education, including academic advising, teaching, and student development. While Tamika isn’t working she can be found cooking, working out, traveling and connecting with her family in Trinidad.

    Julia Hellmich joined KIPP DC in July 2016 as a high school alumni manager and is currently a senior manager for high school alumni. In this role, she ensures that 11th and 12th graders create and execute a strong plan for life after high school. Julia is a native of Ossining, NY and obtained a bachelors in human development from Cornell University and a masters of special education from George Mason University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Julia worked for Friendship Public Charter Schools as a College and Career Coordinator and as a Special Education Teacher. When Julia isn’t working she can be found at a ballet studio, teaching yoga, or scouting out teahouses across the world.

    Sydne joined KIPP DC in September 2018 as an early high school alumni associate. In this role, she is responsible for supporting a caseload of KIPP DC alumni who are in ninth and tenth grade at non-KIPP high schools. Her work ensures that KIPP DC alumni have a strong start in high school and develop the foundational skills necessary to be successful high school students, competitive college applicants, and job seekers. Sydne is a native of Upper Marlboro, MD and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Bowie State University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Sydne worked as a college and career program manager with Community Bridges, Inc., a non-profit organization that supports the social, emotional, and leadership development in young women from elementary to high school. While Sydne isn’t working she can be found gardening, volunteering in her community, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Maurice is a native of Huntsville, Alabama and obtained a bachelor of science in foreign service from Georgetown University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Maurice was an as an Associate at Oxeon Partners- a fast-growing start-up in the healthcare technology space focused on advisory services, company creation, and early-stage investing. While Maurice isn’t working he can be found exploring DC’s expansive art community as a burgeoning collector/admirer and looking for new pop up restaurants.

    Ashley joined KIPP DC in July 2018 as a college and career support manager. In this role, she supports KIPP DC alumni to and through college and/or onto sustainable careers. Ashley is a native of Jersey City, NJ and obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Syracuse University and a masters of social work from Fordham University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Ashley was working as a middle school social worker in the Bronx. Outside of work, Ashley loves exercising, watching reruns of Law and Order SVU and Grey’s Anatomy, traveling and eating copious amounts of pizza and tacos. Ashley is an avid sports fan with strong loyalties to Syracuse men’s basketball and the New York Yankees.

    Morgan Moore joined KIPP DC in June 2016 as a student information associate and is currently a college counselor. In this role she works with juniors and seniors on all things related to college and career.  Morgan is a native of  Washington, DC and obtained a bachelor of arts in comparative women’s studies from Spelman College. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Morgan worked in administration with DC Public Schools. When Morgan isn’t working, she can be found trying new recipes, singing karaoke, and breaking up arguments between her daughter, Tatum and her son, Jude.

    Jessica Morales joined KIPP DC in September 2018 as an early high school and alumni associate. In this role, she helps provide support during the transition and launch of a student’s high school experience. Jessica is a native of Brooklyn, New York and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Pace University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Jessica worked at New Dawn Charter School as a career readiness coordinator and leadership teacher, as well as with the Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York as their director of community education. When Jessica isn’t working she can be found walking her pug Rupert, reading, writing, checking out the latest movies, and spending time with family and friends.

    Yves Pierre joined KIPP DC in July 2013 as a high school alumni manager and is currently senior alumni manager for high school. In this role, he fully manages the caseload and individual needs of the students assigned, plan and execute alumni events. In addition, he visits high school campuses to maintain contact with teachers, counselors, and administration at the schools to facilitate the tracking of student’s progress and to monitor and improve their high school experience. Yves is a native of Haiti. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Southeastern University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Yves worked as a College Access Program Specialist at Collegebound Foundation, in Baltimore City. While Yves isn’t working he can be found doing humanitarian work overseas or on a golf course requesting mulligans.

    Jackie Pendergrass joined KIPP DC in July 2018 as the director of college counseling. In this role, she supports the college counseling team and the work towards post-secondary success. Jackie is a native of Baltimore, MD and obtained an M.A., higher education administration from Morgan State University. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Jackie served in a number of college access roles with organizations such as; the District of Columbia College Access Program, Cristo Rey Network, and Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore. When Jackie isn’t working, she can be found watching old episodes of A Different World, blogging, or being the ultimate foodie. She is passionate about creating avenues and successful pathways for college and career-bound students.
