KIPP DC Parent Organizes “Stop the Violence, Increase the Peace” Rally

Veda Rasheed, a parent from our Benning Campus, was inspired to coordinate a “Stop the Violence, Increase the Peace” rally to address the recent uptick in violence in Ward 7. Over 300 participants including parents, students, community groups, and elected officials marched peacefully from our Benning Road Campus to River Terrace.

The safety and vibrancy of the communities surrounding our schools remains one of our highest priorities, and we are grateful for parents like Ms. Rasheed for drawing attention to the issues that matter most.

You can view photos from the rally here and read the Washington Post’s coverage here.
