KIPP DC participates in the District of Columbia’s National School Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack Program. The program follows USDA meal pattern requirements, rules, and regulations. This school year, we provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks to all students at no cost.

District of Columbia (DC) SUN Bucks is back for Summer 2025!

Important Updates for 2025-26

  • The DC SUN Bucks Call Center is open. Contact us at (202) 888-4834, TTY/TDD: 711.
  • Eligibility notices for automatically approved families were sent in May 2025. If you have not yet received an eligibility notice, you can check your eligibility below or call the DC SUN Bucks Call Center.
  • DC SUN Bucks were issued to preapproved students on June 11, 2025 and will continue throughout the summer.
  • Families that are not automatically eligible can apply for DC SUN Bucks beginning June 27, 2025.
  • $120 in benefits per eligible student will either be loaded onto families’ existing EBT cards or pre-loaded onto a new DC SUN Bucks cards that families can use to purchase groceries.
