Celebrating 5 Years of Dedication at KIPP DC
Recently, we had the incredible privilege of honoring KIPP DC staff members who reached an impressive milestone – five years of unwavering dedication to our mission of empowering students through education. Both our headquarters and school-based staff members who reached this remarkable 5-year milestone were celebrated for their dedication. It was a momentous occasion where their steadfast commitment and invaluable contributions to KIPP DC were recognized and celebrated.
Reflecting on this accomplishment, Tevin Ware, a special education teacher and grade level chair, shared, “It’s a great feeling. These past five years have gone by so fast. There’s a strong sense of togetherness among us, having weathered the challenges of the pandemic and journeyed through these five years together. It’s a testament to our resilience.”
The standout moment during the ceremony was the presentation of custom-made letterman jackets to commemorate their five-year journey with us. These jackets symbolize not only their dedication but also the sense of pride and community they have fostered within our organization.
Chris Wade, associate director of technology operations, shared his sentiments, “When I first joined KIPP DC, these jackets stood out as a mark of achievement. Now, looking back at these five years, it’s surreal reflecting on the time I’ve been here. Receiving this jacket validates the commitment and effort I’ve invested. The past five years have exceeded my expectations, opening doors to personal and professional growth.”
