KCP students pitch in to create #KindComments Mural

On Wednesday, October 11 two KIPP DC College Preparatory students and art teacher Mr. Zulu participated in the painting and unveiling of Instagram’s #KindComments Mural at Union Market DC.

Created by Instagram, the #KindComments campaign is a global initiative intended to transform walls around the world into colorful beacons of kindness! Over the course of a few days, artist Dallas Clayton led a team of local artists, students, and community members to create the D.C. mural. Check out the mural for yourself at Union Market on 6th street – just steps from KIPP DC College Preparatory High School.

The unveiling was attended by Congressman Scott Peters, Councilmember McDuffie, Instagram’s COO Marne Levine, and recording artist Jewel was one to remember! We’re proud to support the arts and our students, who were able to have a hand in bringing kindness and joy to Ward 5!
