KIPP DC Smilow Campus Receives Huge Renovation

On August 8th, our faculty and staff welcomed about 800 eager students to the state-of-the-art newly renovated at KIPP DC Smilow Campus!

The renovation, by MCN Build of Washington D.C., was completed in August 2016 and includes a complete overhaul and update of the existing building, an added middle school wing, an expanded early childhood wing, and revitalized play and athletic spaces for our students.

The KIPP DC Smilow Campus currently houses our Arts and Technology Academy, Quest Academy, and Valor Academy and will grow to serve about 1,100 students in PreK through eighth grade. The additional space brings the building to an impressive 110,000 square feet, giving our students ample amounts of space to learn, grow, and play.

On September 28th, Smilow Campus will be dedicated in honor of KIPP DC champion, Joel E. Smilow.
