KIPP DC is proud to celebrate the contributions of our families in the community. This month, we’re spotlighting Ms. Markeisha George, a DC native and parent of two KIPPsters at The Learning Center and Legacy College Preparatory.
She has a strong presence at our Wheeler Campus, always willing to interact directly with teachers, staff, and other KIPPsters.”Being a single mother with a full-time job, there are times I cannot attend events or meetings, but I love the consistent communication KIPP DC provides, ensuring I receive notifications or updates via text messages, phone calls, or emails – being aware is important to me.”
Over four years in the KIPP DC community, Ms. George has developed a strong bond with several administrators and teachers, making her feel like she has a family at each school. “Having confirmation that someone supports you is an amazing feeling. I know the staff members truly care for my children’s overall success, and I appreciate that.”
When she’s not on campus or working at her job, she enjoys going to the beach and spending quality time with her kids. Congratulations to Ms. Markeisha George for being this month’s Parent Spotlight!
