Grounded in the values of achievement, excellence, leadership, and pride; KIPPsters at LEAP Academy are provided the foundational academic skills and mindsets that are necessary for success in rigorous and joyful elementary schools. Upon completion of PreK4, LEAP students move onto KIPP DC Promise Academy.

LEAP Academy uses the Tools of the Mind curriculum to develop executive function, promote social-emotional learning, and grow early literacy and math skills.
Teachers and families partner to ensure each student’s individual needs are met—setting a strong foundation for their educational journey.
Play-based learning allows students to express themselves, explore new concepts, and work together with their classmates.
LEAP Academy hosts a number of events to engage families and the community. Past events have included: school dances, book fairs, Paint Night, Saturday School, STEAM Fair, and movie night.
We partner with the YMCA for before and aftercare.
