Join us for the 4th Annual Girls Embracing Their Magic & Strength (G.E.M.S.) and Young Men’s Empowerment Summit (Y.M.E.S.)! This virtual summit will bring together middle and high school students from across the KIPP DC network to hear from students and a powerful keynote speaker around the theme “Self-Love is the Best Love”.
The event will include a conversation with best-selling author Nic Stone, a special Q&A moderated by SCP student, Joel Bowman and a spoken word performance by KCP student, Jermoni Benson. Students can access this year’s G.E.M.S. & Y.M.E.S. through their Clever Portal on their Chromebooks or by using this webinar link.
In addition, there will be a raffle for students who submit poems, essays, raps, etc on this year’s theme. Submissions are due by March 12 to Nathan Woods. Winners will be announced at the 4th Annual YMES and GEMS Summit and will win a prize valued at $25.
All students grades 6 – 12 are encouraged to attend!
