Voices of the City

Students can safely advocate for the needs of themselves and their community!

KIPP DC Voices of the City is a student-led activist group committed to amplifying student voices and the voices of their community. Through community activism, Voices of the City will work toward creating a more just and equitable society. Our team unlocks students’ potential to become civic advocates by inspiring them to install a culture of affirmation, appreciation, and compassion through educational and social event gatherings.

Rewards & Goals

Through our supporters, committed students will earn community service hours – which can be unitized for college and job applications, collect free KIPP DC Voices of the City apparel, and be recognized through the KIPP DC academic year celebration and awards ceremony.

– Through community engagement, Voices of the City create a loving and positive rapport with their communities and stakeholders.
– Across activism, Voices of the City will lead the residents of the District of Columbia toward a more safe, just, and equitable society.
– Through advocacy for self and student peers, Voices of the City will improve the culture of schools to make them more inclusive and enjoyable for our students.
