What excites you about being a principal?

“What excites me about being a principal is witnessing the growth of my educators, observing their genuine enthusiasm for nurturing young minds, and their eagerness to embrace constructive feedback. It also brings me immense joy to see students eagerly anticipating their interactions with their teachers. From this vantage point, the journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Knowing that I have a team of individuals wholeheartedly committed to transforming the lives of our students is the driving force behind my dedication to being a principal.”

What excites you about this school year?

“What excites me is that our big rock this year that we are going to win. We are going to win by ensuring that our teachers possess a deep understanding of both the ‘what’ and ‘why’ behind their instruction, using data as a guiding light for all aspects of teaching, and focusing intently on enhancing each child’s educational journey. The enthusiasm I feel is mirrored in my dedicated teaching staff as they too are driven by the prospect of winning this year. What also excites me is the prospect of engaging our students’ families, forging a partnership in achieving both academic and socio-emotional growth. So, in essence, I am genuinely thrilled at the prospect of winning this year.”

What are your favorite characteristics of students and families of Connect Academy?

“My favorite characteristic of the students and families at Connect Academy is the fact that they are so loving. Every morning, as the students arrive, we fill the building with music, and it’s an immediate dance party. The families are candid and straightforward, always ready to tell me, ‘Miss Boothe, here’s what I need from you.’ This level of honesty is a treasure, and I cherish the ability to reciprocate that honesty, nurturing an open dialogue between our school and our families.”

We proudly recognize Amber Boothe as October’s School Leader spotlight. With her dedication, she is committed to providing invaluable opportunities that prepare our students to excel in high school and beyond.
